Dawgs at Work
Digs Saukville is proud to introduce our sister company, Dawgs at Work, which specializes in training working dogs to bring compassionate care and comfort to the community and beyond.
By the end of a two-year training career, our dogs log more than 6,000 hours of training. Our Certified Therapy Dogs earn American Kennel Club certifications in STAR, CGC, CGCU, and CGCA, plus additional certification in Public Access work and Therapy.
Dawgs at Work sources its puppies from well-established, responsible breeders and raises them to become Therapy Dogs, ESAs, or Service Dogs. From the day they are picked up, these pups are trained extensively to provide comfort to those who need it most. For their first two months they live in-home with our Lead Trainer, Mandie, and Certified Therapy Dog (and retired service dog) North, during an intensive home-style board-and-train boot camp.
During this critical socialization window, the lead trainer safely exposes the pups to new sights, sounds, smells, textures, and events. After the first two months, the pups move in with our assistant trainers and puppy raisers, where they keep growing over the next year and a half. By the end of the program, our pups hold titles in AKC STAR Puppy, AKC Canine Good Citizen, AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen, AKC Community Canine, and Therapy Assistance.
